Captains Welcome

As Captain of Lansdowne FC it gives me great pleasure to welcome all players and supporters to Lansdowne Road. It is an honour to retain the captaincy of our great club, particularly with my father, Dermot, as President this year.

Mike Ruddock and Emmett Farrell continue as first team coaches after a very enjoyable first season.  Their influence resulted in some great victories, home and away, while the side also played a style of rugby to be proud of.  We look forward to improving on our 5th place finish last term.  Barring a couple of departures and arrivals it will be much the same squad taking part again. Brian Corrigan and Paddy Gore continue as managers with Stephen Rooney as Director of Rugby.  A huge thank you is due once again to this trio for their time and effort.

I would like to wish all the teams in the club the best of luck, particularly the U21’s coached by Declan Fassbender and Charlie Quinn.

To all our sponsors and in particular our main sponsor, Zurich, many thanks for your continued commitment in these difficult times.  Your help allows the club compete at a level that, without your generous support, would not be possible.

From the ever swelling numbers of mini’s through to the hugely successful junior squad, Lansdowne is a great place to be at the moment, and I would urge all fellow members to come down, support the team and enjoy the camaraderie and antics in the club house afterwards.
