President message

Dear Members,

It is an honour and a privilege for me to have been elected President of this great Rugby Club for the 2009/2010 Season. Lansdowne Football Club is a long established Rugby Club with a proud history and tradition. As a Club we will be judged on our success or otherwise on the field of play. As members of Lansdowne F.C. we owe it to the people who went before us to keep the Club at the forefront of Irish Club Rugby.

I offer sincere thanks to our sponsors Zurich who have been the Clubs Main Sponsor since the inception of the All Ireland League all of twenty years ago. Our thanks also to our other Sponsors: Heineken, Permanent tsb, An Post, Mainstream Renewable Power, Kleerex, Park Developments, Roadstone and Airtricity.

Last season was highly successful with the Club winning five Leinster Branch Trophies and despite the huge disappointment of missing out on promotion in the last match, I am very excited about the new season with our new coaching team of Willie Clancy, Aidan McCullen Gordon D’Arcy and Stephen O’Connor and our very young and talented squad.

This is a huge year for the Club both on and of the pitch as we prepare to return to Lansdowne Road in the summer of 2010. It has been an enormous challenge for all members over the last two years while Lansdowne Road is been re-developed, but thanks to the support and dedication of the Players, Coaches, Managers and Supporters, the Club is as strong as ever.

I would like to wish all our Teams from the Senior Squad to our highly successful Youth and Mini section every success in the coming season. I hope that you will join me, and the rest of the Executive in supporting our teams.
