First played for Lansdowne in the 1905/’06 season gaining 6 of his 10 caps with the Club, his final one against Scotland on 29/2/1908 before finishing with Lansdowne in 1909. He had previously played with Trinity College Dublin with whom he gained his first 4 caps.
He played with an Irish team that had famous victory against a great Wales team at Belfast in 1906 when Ireland were reduced to 13 men through injury, but held on to win 11 – 6. Several of his team mates during his time with Ireland were Lansdowne players including a famous player and administrator, J.J. Coffey.
