Lansdowne v Buccaneers April 2011

Lansdowne powered their way back to Division 1 A of the All Ireland League in a bruising encounter with Buccaneers on Saturday.

With quality players Shane Monaghan, Aidan Wynne, John O’Brien in the backs, powerful kiwi Kolo Kipriati at 8, Second Row Daniel Qualter & Dylan Rodgers at tight head - Buccaneers defence was stern throughout an eventful first half with the home side piling on the pressure but not getting any reward on the score board.

The break through did not arrive until the 60th minute when Lansdowne were awarded a penalty which Craig Ronaldson converted.

Ten minutes later following some awesome phase play Ronaldson finished off a John Cooney break to score bringing the score to 8 nil.

From the kick off Lansdowne attacked again with Eamon Sheridan receiving a Ronaldson pass to go over uncontested under the posts, converted by Ronaldson leaving the final scoreline 15 points to 0.

Lansdowne kept their best performance of the season until the last game with all players having their best games of the season.

Congratulations to all involved on a fine achievement, our best wishes go to both Buccaneers and Garryowen in the play off to decide relegation/promotion.

Onwards and upwards.
