Captains Paddy Mallon (JP Fanagan League), Nick Mullen, (McCorry Cup) Head Coach Willie Clancy with assistants Charlie Quinn, Stephen O’Connor and Declan Fassbender have a very talented and committed bunch of players under their care and along with Controller Paddy Gahan and Manager Alan Twomey they have moulded a great side which challenges for every competition they enter They have been a great side to watch and have drawn good support from Alickadoos on Sunday afternoons in Ballycorus. Winners of the JP Fanagan Super Six League with only one defeat to Blackrock we entered the All Ireland competition and defeated Buccaneers in the first round. In the semi final we again lost to Blackrock 8-10 in the last few minutes having dominated for practically all of the match. It was agonising to watch and cruel on the Lansdowne players who gave so much..
We won the McCorry cup with victories over Wanderers, Terenure, a very tough match, Clontarf and UCD in the final by 29-10. A particularly pleasing aspect of the campaign was the squad rotation which enabled a large number of players to experience cup competitions.
Six of the U20 squad this year played for the Irish U.20 side and, more importantly, a number played for our senior side in the AIL and acquitted themselves very well. Congratulations again to Nick and Paddy and their colleagues in bringing two trophies to Lansdowne.

Great news, Lansdowne have no less than a record 6 representatives in the 26-man squad for the upcoming 2009 IRB Junior World Championship tournament.
They are as follows:
Forwards:
Jack O'Connell and Dominic Ryan.
Backs:
Shane Gahan, Matthew Healy, David Kearney and Eamonn Sheridan.
Congratulations and best wishes to all 6 players in the Tournament.

The under 20's finished the season on a high with a win over UCD, competing a fantastic League and Cup Double.
