Lansdowne F.C. are taking the innovative step of running their J2 (Third XV) team as an U.23 team. This is to aid the development of our young players, particularly after the U.20's age group moves on.
The J2 team itself will not solely consist of U.23 players, as promising players of an older age will still be able to play on the team. The U.23 players will train together during the week and play on the team that they are selected for at the weekend, but the aim is to have the majority of the U.23's playing J2 and higher for the season.
Many players are being lost to the game in Ireland after U.20 level. Lansdowne have decided to arrest and reverse this trend immediately, giving our most talented players the best conditions possible in which to flourish.
Listed players will be assisted with Gym Membership, regular fitness tests and specialist skills sessions with "outside guest coaches" including some Lansdowne ex-internationals.
